The new Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid brings an electric range of 536 hp and 25 miles Car News

The new Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid arrived with a 2.9-liter twin-turbo petrol V6 mated to a 134 hp electric motor for a combined output of 536 hp, 95 hp more than its sibling Bentayga Hybrid.

Joining the non-electrified V8 and W12 models in the Flying Spur lineup, the new plug-in hybrid uses a 14.1 kWh battery to deliver a projected EV range of over 25 miles. With a 0-60mph time of 4.1 seconds and a top speed of 177mph, it closely matches the performance of the standard V8 sedan.

The V6 used here produces 150 hp per liter, more than the V8, thanks to centralized injectors and spark plugs, while the electric motor alone produces some 295 lb-ft of torque, which Bentley says, “Minimizes any perceived lag often associated with turbocharger lag.”

This is Crewe’s second plug-in hybrid, following the 2019 introduction of the Bentayga Hybrid, and is said to be the company’s most efficient road car to date, with a combined gasoline-electric range of over 435 miles. between fillings. .

The bespoke hybrid flourishes include a unique badge, EV drive mode selector, and four oval tailpipes. The infotainment system is also equipped with a selection of hybrid-specific connected services, including advanced recent trip data, remote charging activation and cabin preconditioning.

The infotainment screen can also be used to display a real-time energy flow diagram, along with a charge time indicator and efficiency statistics.

Deliveries to customers will begin in late 2021 and prices are expected to be slightly lower than the V8, at around £ 145,000.
