Air ambulance carrier at RVI after ‘serious’ collision in County Durham UK News

The air ambulance transported a person to the Royal Victoria infirmary after a collision in County Durham.

The North East Ambulance Service received a call after 2:30 p.m. in a road collision at Front Street, Stanhope, County Durham.

Emergency services arrived at the scene on the A689 Front Street where the road was blocked in both directions.

Durham Police posted on social media urging the public to avoid the area.

The ambulance service dispatched a community first responder, a clinical care manager and an ambulance team.

They also enlisted the help of the Great North Air Ambulance Service.

One person was transported to the Royal Victoria Infirmary by air ambulance.

The ambulance service also assessed two other people at the scene but they did not require hospital treatment.

A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: “We were called to report a traffic accident at Front Street, Stanhope, just after 2:30 pm.

“We sent a community first responder, clinical care manager and ambulance team and enlisted the help of Great North Air Ambulance Service.

“One patient was airlifted to the RVI and two other patients were assessed on site but did not require hospital treatment.”
