UEFA has opened disciplinary proceedings against England after supporters pointed a laser at Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel in the Euro 2020 semi-final and booed the Scandinavian country’s national anthem.
A laser pointer was aimed at Schmeichel before he saved Harry Kane’s penalty in overtime – only for the England captain to score the rebound.
UEFA is also investigating the lighting of fireworks inside Wembley Stadium during the match.
England won the semi-final 2-1 last night after a game where they had the lion’s share of the chances.
They will now face Italy, unbeaten for almost three years, in the final at Wembley on Sunday.
If England do take the win, it will be the first time they’ve won a major tournament since the 1966 World Cup.

Three Lions coach Gareth Southgate says his side deserve to be in the final, after Denmark boss Kasper Hjulmand said he believes England should never be given the penalty which helped them to be equal.
Southgate said: “We were so smooth in the quarterfinals and relatively unscathed in the second round.
“We knew that at some point we were going to concede and we had to respond.
“Denmark had an amazing tournament. I have to give them huge credit.
“But I think on the balance of the game, when you look at the number of saves we forced the goalkeeper to make and the long stretches of play where I felt we were the biggest threat, I think we deserved it. “
The all-important kick came after England striker Raheem Sterling was ruled to have been tripped in the area. The decision was confirmed by VAR.
