Lennard Hoornik takes over commercial management of Jaguar Land Rover Car News

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) has appointed Lennard Hoornik as Commercial Director, replacing Felix Bräutigam, who stepped down as Marketing Director at the end of June.

Hoornik – who also sits on the board – comes to JLR after spending eight years at Dyson, having held positions at Sony, Sony Ericsson and HTC.

JLR says the appointment was taken with immediate effect and that Hoornik will be responsible for the sales and marketing of the Jaguar and Land Rover brands around the world.

His other responsibilities will include brand positioning, current and future product planning, customer service and relationship management, among others.

“We are delighted to confirm that Lennard Hoornik will join Jaguar Land Rover as Commercial Director,” said Thierry Bolloré, boss of JLR.

“Lennard is a great addition to our business and is an extremely experienced leader in bringing products to market in exciting new ways. Innovation has been a common thread throughout his career, which makes him perfectly positioned to realize the potential of our Reimagine strategy. “

The Reimagine Strategy is JLR’s broad plan to turn the tide over the next two decades. Jaguar is expected to become a fully electric brand by 2025, with all of its models based on an exclusive, purely electric platform.

Meanwhile, Land Rover intends to launch six new electric vehicles over the next five years, the first of which is scheduled for 2024. By the end of the decade, there will be an all-electric version of every car. manufactured by JLR.

Longer term, JLR aims to become a company with zero net carbon emissions for its products, operations and supply chain by 2039.

The company’s overhaul is being led by former Renault boss Bolloré, who was appointed CEO in the summer of 2020. His arrival has caused a domino effect of high-level movements within JLR’s senior management.

This included Gerry McGovern becoming Creative Director for Jaguar and Land Rover in November of last year, then being promoted to the board a few weeks later.

Jaguar Design Director Julian Thomson left the company in May after less than two years in the role.
