Road works are returning to the village road A after the previous closure which sowed chaos Bath City News

Road works are due to start on an A road in Somerset village, after a closure at the same location that took its toll last month.

Templecombe Road will be closed for work by Jurassic Fiber Limited this week.

Church Hill work runs from Tuesday, July 13 at 6:30 p.m. to Thursday (July 15) at 7 a.m.

The Somerset County Council Road Authority has warned that “delays are possible” during the works.

Traffic lights will be in place for the duration of the work.

This A357 road is a crucial road in the village and created “serious disruption” last month when it was closed for electrical work.

Rock Power Connections works operators were unable to complete the installation of a high-voltage cable at the end of June and therefore reopened the road earlier than expected.

This happened after a number of incidents, one of which saw a Rock Power worker verbally assaulted and nearly hit by a motorist who crossed the closed road.

The closure signs were also moved the night before this incident, to avoid the 36-mile diversion to travel from one side of the village to the other.
