More than 750 coronavirus cases recorded in 48 hours in Somerset Bath City News

Another 756 cases of coronavirus have been reported in Somerset in the past 48 hours through Sunday July 25.

Another death was also recorded in Somerset West and Taunton.

The latest official figures released on Friday July 23 showed the biggest increase was again in northern Somerset, where there had been 105 more positive Covid cases until 9 a.m. on Friday.

Meanwhile, the smallest increase in the last reporting period was recorded at Sedgemoor, where 37 new cases of coronavirus have been confirmed.

As of 9 a.m. on Sunday, there had been 29,173 other laboratory-confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the UK, the government said.

As of Friday, 28 more people had died within 28 days after testing positive for Covid-19.

This brings the UK total to 129,158.

The number of positive test results in each area since the start of the pandemic is recorded below, with the new positive test results in parentheses:

Bath and North East Somerset: 12 325 (+185) Mendip: 4 774 (+87) North Somerset: 14 156 (+189) Sedgemoor: 6 672 (+74) Somerset West and Taunton: 7 160 (+86) South Somerset : 7 292 (+135)

The number of deaths within 28 days of a positive test result in each area since the start of the pandemic is recorded below, with new deaths and deaths subtracted from the total of the following revisions to past data, in parentheses:
