Storm Evert: Rugby Road, Worthing blocked by fallen tree Brighton News

A ROAD has been blocked by a fallen tree as high winds continue to batter the county.

Traffic is affected on Rugby Road, Worthing, in both directions after a tree falls onto the roadway.

The road remains closed, and a cordon is in place.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for strong winds in the city as Storm Evert hits Britain.

Winds of up to 49 mph are expected to last until 6 p.m., when the weather warning ends.

According to the forecaster, there will be delays in road, rail, air and ferry transport.

Some bus and train services will also be affected, with some journeys taking longer than usual.
