Brighton’s The Walrus on UK’s best pubs and bars list Brighton News

A POPULAR Brighton pub has been named as one of the best places to drink in the UK.

The Walrus of Ship Street in the Lanes recapped the 30 best bars and pubs of the Liberty Games.

It was the only Brighton venue on the list – compiled by their TripAdvisor ranking and the number of five star reviews each venue received.

From places focused on dinner and drinks to those promising a pint, a packet of crisps and a game of pool, the list hopes to guide drinkers to the best of the best.

Bistrot Pierre in Birmingham took first place – followed by Scarlett Green in London and Lost and Found in Leeds.

Several chains – from Revolucion De Cuba in Aberdeen or Southampton to Revolution Hockley in Nottingham – took many of the remaining top spots.

But The Walrus – which is part of the City Pub Group – took 15th place across the UK.

The bar has received over 237 five-star reviews.

The Walrus, which was previously The Smugglers, opened in 2017 and serves Sunday roast, cocktails, coffee, vegan dishes, and treats.

It has a two-story roof garden, an open fireplace and comfortable cabins on the ground floor and a music room in the basement.
