Police said officers were called at 5:11 a.m. to the Sheaf View Pub on Gleadless Road in Heeley after a reported arson attack.
The incident forced the popular pub to close until further notice, but the pub owners have vowed to return as soon as possible.
Kezia Richardson, who posted the fundraising appeal on Go Fund Me, said, “The Sheaf View pub in Heeley is my local.
“In the early hours of Friday August 20, the pub was nearly destroyed in a horrific arson attack.
“Many of you know The Sheaf and know it’s more than just a pub. It’s a community center, a family, a party place, a big night out or a quiet pint and a crossword puzzle.
“The staff at Sheaf View are a truly amazing bunch of people and have worked incredibly hard to keep the pub going through two closings, providing table service with a smile to protect us all and constantly adapting to changes over the past 18 years. month.
“The business survived because of this and was just starting to return to normal when the attack took place. I know many of you are as shocked and devastated by this attack on our community as I am, and I know you won I don’t mind asking on behalf of the owner and the management team to contribute the price of a pint, or a couple if you can, in order to continue paying the wages of the staff and restore power while the police, firefighters and insurance company investigate.
