The small car market has long been dominated by the Ford Fiesta and Vauxhall Corsa, but what if you feel like injecting a pseudo-Spanish touch into your automobile? Then take a look at the avant-garde Seat Ibiza.
This fifth-generation model was launched in 2017 and established itself as a competitive player, thanks in part to its distinctive styling and spacious interior.
The initial engine choices were three 1.0-liter gasoline, two 1.6 diesel, and one 1.5 148 hp gasoline. The range was later rationalized with 1.0 80, 95 and 115 petrol and the 1.6 TDI 95. Over time, diesel was discontinued and a 1.0 110 petrol has recently replaced the 115.

Entry-level S cars come with 15-inch steel wheels, a height-adjustable driver’s seat, Bluetooth and hill-hold control as standard, as well as a monochrome infotainment system. 5.0 inch. SE models added 15-inch alloys, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, and a full-color infotainment system. The SE technology received Seat’s 8-inch touchscreen infotainment with GPS and CD player, as well as ambient interior lighting, while the SE Design cars came with 16-inch wheels, chrome exterior trims, a panoramic sunroof and a 300 W Beats audio system.

On the road, the 1.0 95 pulls smoothly from low revs and doesn’t feel as weak as the 1.0 80. The 1.0 115 is even more punchy, though a bit pricey for the extra oomph. The 1.5 is a real flyer, but there are fewer on the used market.
Driving and handling are where the Ibiza shines. He feels composed and mature, superior to many close rivals. Highway driving is regulated and road and wind noise is minimal. The steering is light but communicative and there’s plenty of grip, and while handling is sure and predictable, it borders on fun. All models have smooth shifting and gasoline engines are the most refined at all speeds.
