Images of the incident, captured on a cell phone, went viral after being shared online.
It was recorded at Poundland in Castle Square around 2 p.m. Tuesday and showed that an alleged shoplifter was being ejected from the store.
The footage shows a man in a headlock and knocked down by a store worker after being charged with shoplifting.
Another Poundland employee then intervenes and drags him into the street outside.
During the incident, the man ejected from the store lost a shoe and his pants and underwear fell off.
As the ejected man gets up, he confronts the store clerk who dragged him outside and makes a movement suggesting he is going to retire.
He doesn’t, but the store clerk performs a karate kick and throws him to the ground.
