Teenager admits downtown assault on court date Bath City News

Here are the details of those recently convicted by the Taunton Magistrates’ Court.

Magistrates handle over 90 percent of criminal cases, including minor offenses such as minor assault and driving charges.

Chester James Marsh, 18, of Radlet Close, Taunton, pleaded guilty to the charge on August 31, 2020 in Taunton, of assault by beating. Marsh was fined £ 120 and a victim fine surcharge of £ 34 and costs £ 100.

Wilson Paul, 64, from Bruford Close, Taunton, pleaded guilty on 30 October 2020 in Taunton to damaging a CCTV camera worth £ 156.00 belonging to Somerset West and Taunton Council. Paul also pleaded not guilty to the count, October 2, 2020 in Taunton, of assault by beating. Paul was found guilty by the magistrates. An injunction was issued and Paul was ordered to pay a fine of £ 210 and compensation of £ 156 and costs of £ 200.

Perry Swanson, 30, of Bower Hinton, pleaded guilty to driving the M5 at 64 mph on August 2, 2019 in a 50 mph zone. Swanson was awarded three points of conduct, a fine of £ 307 and a victim fine surcharge of £ 32 and costs £ 85.

Ramazan Gul, 39, of Meyer Close, Wellington, pleaded not guilty on December 4, 2020, on the A303, of driving at 76 mph in a 60 mph zone. Gul was found guilty by the magistrates. Gul was awarded three points of conduct, a fine of £ 120 and a victim fine surcharge of £ 34 and costs of £ 310.

Pervez Khan, 45, of Chester Road, Northwood, Middlesex, pleaded guilty to driving 84 mph in a 70 mph zone on February 22 on the M5. Khan was awarded three points of conduct, a fine of £ 160 and a victim fine surcharge of £ 32 and costs £ 85.

Richard Watson, 66, of Spark Lane, Halton, Runcorn, Cheshire, pleaded guilty to the charge of, on October 5, 2020 on the M5, driving above 60 mph. Watson was awarded three points of conduct, a fine of £ 153 and a victim fine surcharge of £ 34 and 90 costs.

Richard William Carman, 34, of Bell Close, Bridgwater, pleaded guilty to the charges of, on June 30, 2020 in Taunton:

Carman also pleaded guilty to the charges on October 15, 2020 in Taunton:

Assault by beating Use of threatening, abusive or insulting words or behavior

Carman also failed, without reasonable excuse, to comply with the requirements of a community ordinance.

Carman was prevented from holding or obtaining a driver’s license for 6 months and jailed for a total of twenty weeks suspended for two years.

Haining Yu, 27, of Grove Lane, Standish, Wigan, pleaded guilty on January 30, 2020, on the M5, of driving above 40 mph. Yu was given six points of conduct, a fine of £ 80 and a victim fine surcharge of £ 32 and costs £ 90.

Ashley Scott Ward, 50, of Duke Street, Taunton, pleaded guilty to the charge of, on February 4 in Halifax, when she was suspected of driving a vehicle and being required to provide a sample of blood, failing to do so. Ward was barred from holding or obtaining a driving license for 17 months, was fined £ 200 and victim fine surcharge of £ 34 and £ 40 for costs.
