How do I get £ 1 train tickets?
Tickets can be purchased in advance from Tuesday August 24, with travel between September 6 and October 22.
No discount code is needed – just search for the ride, and if this is one of the pre-purchased routes, the discounted fare will be available if tickets are available.
It is only available for tickets purchased in advance so unfortunately you cannot get to the station without a ticket and be able to travel for £ 1.
Tickets can be booked through the Northern Rail app or website.
The fare also includes tickets to northern airports if traveling further afield, with Teeside Airport and Manchester Airport tickets available from select destinations.
In the past 18 months, Northern has said it has introduced 101 new trains, completed renovations to its old trains and delivered millions of pounds of improvements to stations.
This includes the installation of more than 600 ATMs and improved accessibility features across the network.
Regarding the coronavirus, Northern Rail has more than 600 dedicated cleaning staff working on trains and at stations with “a particular focus on points of contact”.
The operator is also asking customers to continue to wear face coverings on trains and at stations if they can.
