This year’s Super Bowl will take place on Sunday, February 13, from 11:30 p.m. UK time until around 3 a.m. If you find it hard to refrain from pinching in the kitchen to grab a packet of crisps during the commercial break of an ITV drama, imagine staying up until the wee hours of the morning, just before the birds start chirping again, without food. My stomach rumbles at the thought.
While a bag of supermarket brand popcorn might be enough to get you to the halftime show, why not embrace the starry spirit of things and cook up an American feast of snacks, sides and sweets. Dip marinated chicken thighs smothered in tangy sauce in a fresh blue cheese dip, tuck into a crispy fillet of fish sandwiched between two floury buns, or grab a generous slice of warm dark chocolate pecan pie. Or, alternatively, sample the entire selection. It’s a long old game, after all.
