With all the current inclement weather, the Lock Cup at Bedford & County Golf Club has been rescheduled for March 27, but the annual dinner and men’s pitch party went ahead as planned.
Captain Leo Conroy had a slew of awards to present but the main event is the Captain’s Shield which is played on his Captain’s Day in July and this year it was won by Hank Maloney – his 39th attempt to win the title.
The ladies managed to finish their winter league competition and the big winner was Linda Stock with 190 points from her best five rounds of the competition.
Second place went to Sandra Stevens with 180 points, the same number as Debbie Newnham-Davies, who just lost second place on the countdown.
Results: Round 7 of the men’s winter league: Winners Danny Marino and Adrian Simpkin 45 pts, second on c/b Rory Doyle and Peter Knight 44 pts, 3rd place Owen Jones & James Scott also on 44 pts.
