The in-form 31-year-old beat four Imps defenders on a run that started deep in his own box to build on a 33rd-minute Saido Berahino goal.
It was his fourth assist in as many matches – he also netted a goal in this run – and capped an otherwise difficult Wednesday afternoon.
“We’ve been scoring goals like this all season,” Moore said of a goal he had a good view of. “When the boys are on it and like that, there’s real detail and quality in the team. It was a wonderful goal.
“Marvin’s individual brilliance [Johnson] on the wing to spot Saido [Berahino] and it was a controlled finish. It showed what the team is capable of. What we have to do is drive and control the level of performance.
On how Wednesday lost the game, Moore said, “I’ve seen us control games from start to finish, but today was too little.
“We didn’t capitalize on things when we entered the final third. There are three or four moments in my head where players were too hesitant and had poor passing control in positions.
“As a manager you work with the group and you know what they are capable of and another day I think we will capitalize on some of those chances.”
