The new Lexus NX, which shares its platform with the Toyota RAV4, also earned five stars. Its highest rating was 91% for safety assistance, while the lowest rating was a still impressive 83% for protecting vulnerable road users.
The SUV earned the score despite Lexus not providing all the technical information for the model, which Euro NCAP said left “an impression of carelessness atypical for a Toyota brand.”
Elsewhere, the BMW 2 Series Coupe scored four out of five stars, with an “adequate” autonomous emergency braking system that protects against cars and pedestrians. However, it is limited when cyclists are involved.
