A bus rammed the woman in the center of town near Regent Street. The incident happened around 12:40 p.m. today, Monday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Margaret Street.
Despite their best efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
This happened around 1 p.m.
After the crash, roads around the area were temporarily closed to keep pedestrians away from the scene.
Metropolitan Police officers were first called by the London Ambulance Service.
A Met spokesman said: ‘Police were called by the London Ambulance Service at 12.42pm on Monday March 7 to a report of a bus colliding with a pedestrian on Margaret Street, W1.
“Officers and firefighters from London were present.
“Despite the efforts of the emergency services, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:13 p.m.

“His family has not yet been informed.
“Road closures are currently in place.”
