A teenager has appeared in court charged with terrorism offences, including allegedly uploading extremist videos.
Al-Arfat Hassan, from north London, is charged with one count of preparing terrorist acts and also gathering information which could be useful to a person planning an act of terrorism.
Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard on Wednesday that the 19-year-old was accused of participating in online discussions of extremist views.
It was also alleged that he uploaded a radical video and then prepared to “imitate” its teachings.
Hassan spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
He was taken into custody and ordered to appear at the Old Bailey on March 25.
