The Blades thought they had broken the deadlock when Ollie Norwood’s second-half shot hit the back of the net. But the celebrations were cut short by a late flag for offside, and United could find no other way past Blackpool keeper Dan Grimshaw.
Blackpool hit the crossbar in the first half through Josh Bowler, who also fired a second-half shot just wide of the Blades goal in a fine second-half display.

Another much improved from the Coventry horror show, Egan coped well with a tough physical threat from Madine and also used the ball well, with some good raking passes putting United in attack.
