A unique space-themed Bentley Bentayga Speed was produced by the company’s bespoke Mulliner in-house design team.
The unique Bentayga, named Space Edition, was ordered by a customer from the Bentley dealership in Orlando. The model features an exterior paint shade called Cypress, a metallic gray with green undertones reminiscent of the launch of the first generation Bentley Continental GT in 2003.
Bentley’s Blackline Specification option, which adds gloss black exterior trim, was also selected for the car. The model’s carbon fiber has been enhanced with an Orange Flame color which, according to Bentley, “is inspired by the streaks of comet dust that cross the night sky”.
The cabin, meanwhile, features a Beluga and Porpoise styling option, bespoke treadplates depicting the planets of the solar system, and the use of orange for stitching, bezels and upholstery. The gear selector and steering wheel are also trimmed in bright orange.
The car was reportedly inspired by the Space Coast in Florida, home to Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station.
“The Space Coast in Central Florida has long been considered the gateway to the world to explore the universe above. So space travel and exploration were the perfect themes to inspire. this unique car,” said Joseph Wierda, general manager of Bentley Orlando.
Bentley says its Mulliner design team has already handled 100 requests in 2022, which is double the customization requests year-on-year.
“The growing popularity of our bespoke commissioning service is a testament to the skill of our Mulliner design team and craftsmen who work tirelessly to meet every request,” said Mulliner Sales Manager Paul Dickinson.
“Our personal commissioning guide is the launch pad for many customer journeys, and this space-themed Bentayga Speed is an amazing example of what’s possible.”
