Bo-Eun Jung, representing Dudzinski, said her client “would very much like the opportunity to participate in rehabilitation” and “recognizes that his behavior is unacceptable and is very sorry.”

He also told the court that Dudzinski, who has no prior convictions, began his training with West Yorkshire Police in November 2020 and “may have himself been exploited” as a cadet when an older man asked him to send pictures of his genitals. .

Registrar Ray Singh adjourned the hearing to April 27 and said he will sentence the police officer at Durham Crown Court, once the Probation Service has prepared a pre-sentence report.

The judge said, “I think it is right and proper that a full parole pre-sentence report be obtained in relation to this matter, because I need to be able to understand how a person such as yourself could be involved in this type of crime, taking into account count your profession.

“No doubt you would have had training in relation to matters of this nature.”

He added: “You know that I have in mind, firmly, a custodial sentence in this particular case.”

Dudzinski, who has been suspended by West Yorkshire Police since his arrest, was released on bail but the judge imposed a curfew and ordered him to wear an electronic badge.
