A beautiful bouquet of flowers, an afternoon tea, a magnificent roast dinner – there are many tried and true ways to celebrate Mother’s Day.

But today, Mother’s Day, also known as Mother’s Sunday, extends far beyond tradition and offers an opportunity to show gratitude and love to your mother, grandmother, mother-in-law, mother figure or, if your partner has just given birth to your other half in new and personalized ways.

Some people criticize it for its commercialism, but for us, it offers the ideal occasion to reflect on the love and kindness that the important women in our lives have shown us, and to do something to thank them.

SONOS One SL Wireless Multi-Room Speaker – White

SONOS One SL Wireless Multi-Room Speaker – White

The original, and still the best. The Sonos one is the smart speaker that started it all, offering smart, intuitive voice control (without choosing between Alexa and the Google Assistant) and great sound quality.

These days, thanks to constant updating, it’s still the gold standard for smart speakers in the UK market. Plug it in and in moments you’ll marvel at how easily it integrates into your home sound system and how beautiful the sound is. Hi-Res Audio really does sound deep, rich and real, adapting to the room it’s placed in for best acoustic results, and really fills the space.

Look, it’s not a cheap option, but if you’re looking to push the boat out a bit this Mother’s Day, Mom will love it.

The White Company – Electronic Diffuser

The White Company – Electronic Diffuser

If you want a diffuser that adds style to your home, The White Company’s Electronic Diffuser is the most aesthetically pleasing.

The pearlescent ceramic dome complements any room’s color scheme and the wood trim around the bottom adds an earthy, natural touch.

The diffuser has a nightlight feature to add a soothing glow to the room. We loved the way you can choose from three active timer settings (60 minutes, 120 minutes, or 180 minutes), so you can activate it before you go to sleep, without worry.

The diffusion level is a brilliant balance; just 2-3 drops of essential oil achieves a good level of fragrance without becoming overpowering.

You can buy the diffuser on its own, or buy it for £80 with two oils from The White Company collection; we loved the Sleep Oil, a calming blend of lavender, chamomile, and clary sage.

Cazcabel Honey Liqueur with Tequila 70cl

Cazcabel Honey Liqueur with Tequila 70cl

A sweet and cheeky drink: quite a revelation.

We first came across this at a tequila tasting workshop and it stopped us in our tracks. Combine the sharp, cheery warmth of tequila with luscious honey to make a liqueur you won’t want to stop drinking.

Enjoy it neat or, as we loved, drizzle on baked vanilla ice cream for a boozy affogato. yum.

Cutter and Squidge Afternoon Tea at Home – UK Delivery

Cutter and Squidge Afternoon Tea at Home – UK Delivery

When we were lucky enough to try this Cutter and Squidge Afternoon Tea, we were especially happy to work from home as the noises we made while eating it were not safe for work.

They live up to the ‘Squidge’ in the name – these are some really sweet, moist tray bakes. We were also impressed by the freshness. Do you want cakes like (read: better) than the ones Nana used to make? These are your bakers.
