Mother’s Day Babies: The Toddlers Who Made Their Mom’s Special Day A Little More Spectacular UK News

It was a memorable Mother’s Day for these North East families as they welcomed their new arrivals.

Three mothers were among those who gave birth at the Royal Victoria Infirmary and Sunderland Royal in Newcastle on Sunday, including 34-year-old Zoe Ditch. Zoe welcomed her baby girl Heidi Annabelle into the world at 12:02 a.m., her second daughter.

Washington’s mother told Chronicle Live that her due date was March 22, but she was thrilled to give birth to Heidi on Mother’s Day.

Speaking about the experience herself, Zoe said: “She’s our second baby girl and it was great, the birthing center. The staff were so kind and supportive.”

Katherine Ferguson, 21, gave birth to her first child on Sunday morning. The Newcastle woman and her partner decided to call their baby Mia, when she arrived 10 days later from her original due date of March 17.

Baby Mia was born at 6.39am this morning and Katherine was very pleased with the birthing process and the kindness of the sisters and midwives.

She said: “It was a good and exciting experience, the staff were brilliant. They were all very friendly.”

Across the river at the Royal Hospital in Sunderland, baby Madison Rae Parkin arrived at 5.57am Parents Gavin Parkin and Jessica Ord were delighted with their newborn, after a long night in work.

Gavin, from Houghton-le-Spring, said: “We arrived at Sunderland Royal at 4am on the 26th where Jessica was told she was fully dilated and would be giving birth to our beautiful daughter on the day of Mothers Day.

“After a long night and some minor complications, our beautiful baby was born at 5:57am on the 27th, weighing a healthy 7lbs 2oz. This is our first baby and the due date was originally scheduled for April 3rd, but she surprised us when she arrived on Mother’s Day.

“We would really like to thank Allison from the Sunderland Royal Birthing Service for all her help before and after the birth, and we would also like to thank all the staff who worked with us in the theater to straighten out the complications and help deliver Madison healthy. and safe – while keeping Jessica as safe and comfortable as possible.”
