UK seizes Russian superyacht in London Business

Grant Shapps has seized the first Russian superyacht in British waters as part of Kremlin sanctions.

The 58.5m (192ft) vessel, worth an estimated £38million, named ‘Phi’ was found in Canary Wharf.

His ownership is “deliberately well hidden”, but is believed to be traced back to an unnamed Russian businessman. Grant Shapps said the detention sent “a stark and stark warning to Putin and his cronies”.

The yacht can accommodate up to 12 people and has six cabins. Built from aluminium, her Dutch shipbuilders said she had a freshwater swimming pool and an “infinite wine cellar”.
