Electric Group is a privately held, independent concert hall company.

It operates some of the UK’s most iconic concert and club venues. Established in 2013, the company says it evolved from the success of its refurbishment and reimagining of the Brixton fridge as the Brixton Electric.

In 2017 the company acquired SWX, Bristol and relaunched the iconic nightclub as a standard touring venue.

In 2015 the Company acquired full ownership of the O2 Academy Newcastle (operated by Academy Music Group) and in 2017 the Leadmill in Sheffield.

It says it is currently preparing a £1.5million refurbishment of the former O2 Academy Newcastle, which will reopen in October 2022 as independent club and music venue, NX.

It states on its website: “Electric Group is proud of our sites, our people, the communities in which we have deep roots and we hope to continue to make a valuable contribution for a long time to come.”
