A METROPOLITAN police officer appeared in court accused of sexually assaulting a fellow police officer while on duty.
PC Joseph Demir, of Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday charged with one count of sexually assaulting a man.
The incident allegedly happened on March 10, 2020, when Mr Demir was a cadet at Hendon Training School. The violation was noted on July 1, 2020.

Demir, 24, spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
The case was returned to Westminster Magistrates’ Court for a rehearing on April 28.
Demir, who was placed on restricted duties, was released on conditional bail.
The conditions are not to contact the complainant directly or indirectly.
