Are the supermarkets open at Easter?
Many supermarkets will be closed on Easter Sunday (April 17) and opening hours will also be different on April 15, 16 and 18. However, most supermarkets will be open for normal hours on Good Friday, with some exceptions depending on where you live.
For example, Sainsburys stores will be open as normal on Good Friday and Easter Monday. On Easter Sunday, the vast majority of supermarkets in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be closed. Shops in Scotland will remain open.
The opening hours of some supermarkets vary depending on your location, for example Tesco. On Good Friday, most Tesco stores will open and close at their normal hours, and those normally open until late will close earlier.
