Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale urges team to trust Mikel Arteta after Albion loss Brighton News

AARON Ramsdale has admitted Arsenal are ‘not good enough’ after their loss to Albion.

Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Enock Mwepu was the star of the show, setting up Leandro Trossard’s opener before scoring the winner.

Martin Odegaard’s late consolation meant Graham Potter’s side left Emirates Stadium with three points on Saturday.

After another disappointing loss to Crystal Palace on Monday night, the Arsenal Ramsdale goalkeeper admitted his frustration.

“It was supposed to be the reaction game, but it wasn’t,” he told Arsenal’s official website.

“We lost and failed to take any points and next week is even more important.

“I think we just need to go out there and be free and play our game, you know?

“It’s a football game and I think in the first half we were very tense and slow, so we just need to go there next week, trust what the manager and the player are saying. coaching staff and go and play our football, which we’ve been doing all season.

“It’s not good enough. Two games in a row where the first 45 minutes escaped us.

“You make it an uphill battle against any Premier League side if you lose at half-time.”

Gabriel Martinelli also had a goal ruled out for offside during the game.

Arsenal rivals Tottenham Hotspur cruised to victory on Saturday to take a three-point lead in fourth place.

The win was just a third league win of the calendar year for Brighton.

The Seagulls ended a six-game losing streak with a draw at home to Norwich before taking all three points against Arsenal.

“I’m so happy, we needed the three points after six defeats and a draw,” said Mwepu.

“I think we showed we had the right mentality in the group to come to places like Arsenal and play the way we did.

“We just want to continue in final games like this, play well and win for the coach, who has shown us a lot of confidence.

“We had a little joke in the locker room before the game that I was going to score. I was delighted to take my chance, I hit really well and it was wonderful to see him enter the net.
