Chase viewers praise North Shields candidate for pushbacks after Mark Labbett calls them ‘poor’ UK News

Chase viewers have praised a North East contestant for her pushback efforts after fighter Mark Labbett called them a ‘poor’ team.

Judith from North Shields appeared on Friday night’s ITV show to try and beat the hunters and bring home some cash. The 58-year-old English tutor told host Bradley Walsh she enjoys finding and selling vintage clothes with her daughter Rosie and would put the money into making it a business.

She had a strong start to the cash-generating cycle, earning £5,000 despite Brad telling her “she’s better than that”. And when it was time to face the hunter, Mark joked, “Well, there’s no vintage clothes here, but you’re about to see another vintage performance from me.”

But as she confronted the hunter, a few wrong answers meant that Judith found herself in a one-question firefight. Fortunately, Judith made it with her £5,000 but lost two of her three team members, prompting Mark to call the team ‘poor’.

However, in the final chase, Judith and her teammate Jamie managed to take an 18-step lead over the pursuer. And viewers were impressed by Judith who gave two scathing responses to fend off the hunter.

One Twitter user said: ‘Judith almost knocked it out of the park’, while another said: ‘Judith gives great answers’. A third said: ‘Judith did the pushbacks well.

Unfortunately, Judith’s pushbacks weren’t enough to push the team to victory and they were caught with just six seconds to spare. Mark, however, appeared to backtrack on his earlier “poor” comments and said they “played well”.
