Woman furious as her car was parked in her driveway near Birmingham Airport for almost a week | United Kingdom | News UK News

Debbie Flynn awoke to find a mysterious silver Vauxhall Mokka next to her garage on Outmore Road, Garrett’s Green, on Wednesday morning. Ms Flynn believes the owner parked the vehicle there to go on holiday after it was sold by fraudsters as it is not far from Birmingham Airport.

The mother-of-two said West Midlands Police confirmed the car had not been stolen but could not take any action as it was a civil rather than criminal matter.

Ms Flynn said: “It’s like the car has just fallen out of the sky.

“It’s a complete mystery.

“We don’t understand how or why this happened but as the owner hasn’t been back all week we believe it is due to someone selling space on my road near the airport .”

Ms Flynn said she and her partner went to bed around 10.30pm on Tuesday and woke up in the car outside their house on Wednesday.

She told Birmingham Live: “The cheeky g*ts opened my door and parked it and closed the doors after leaving it on the grass.

“The policeman who came to us said he had never seen anything like it in all his years.

“I am furious because there is no law to prevent anyone from parking on your road.

“It’s totally legal so the police can’t help.

“Yet if we try to move it and damage it, we would have committed a criminal offence.

“Kids can’t even play outside on the road now, in case they kick a ball or something and accidentally damage it.

“Police say there are parking apps used by scammers that advertise the journeys of unsuspecting people as parking spots and charge car owners a fee.”

Ms Flynn has chained the tire to the car, so the owner will have to knock on her door when she returns.

She added: “I want answers – when, how, why and who did you pay?

“We just have to sit back and wait for the owners to come back.

“It’s an absolute joke.

“I’m furious and disgusted that any Tom, Dick and Harry can park in your car and there’s nothing you can do about it.”
