The body of a man was discovered on a beach in Somerset this morning (April 20). The body was discovered in the early hours of the morning on Minehead beach.
Police confirmed they were alerted to reports of a body being discovered just before 6.30am. Emergency services were on the beach throughout the morning as inquests begin to establish the man’s identity and how he died.
The man’s death is currently considered unexplained. Avon and Somerset Police confirmed officers and investigators remained at the scene as initial investigations into the situation began.

The statement read: ‘We were called at 6.28am this morning after the body of a man was found on a beach in Minehead. Officers, including forensic investigators, are at the scene.
“The death is currently being treated as unexplained and inquests to establish the man’s identity and how he died are ongoing.”
