Cristiano Ronaldo has thanked his supporters as his family reunites after their heartbreaking loss.
The Manchester United player and his Spanish partner Georgina Rodriguez were expecting twins when an earlier statement from the couple confirmed the death of their baby boy but said their baby girl survived.
The heartbreaking statement read: “It is with our deepest sadness that we announce the passing of our baby boy. It is the greatest pain a parent can feel. Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live this moment with some hope and happiness.

“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all of their expert care and support. We are all devastated by this loss and kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time. Our little boy, you are our angel. We will always love you. Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez.”
But the family has since confirmed that they have been reunited after the painful loss. In his latest Instagram post to his 431 million followers, Cristiano Ronaldo shared a loving photo of himself and his family.
Her caption read: “Home sweet home. Gio and our baby girl are finally with us. We want to thank everyone for all the kind words and gestures. Your support means so much and we all felt the love and respect you have for our family. Now is the time to be grateful for the life we have just welcomed into this world.
Hundreds of fans were quick to comment on a sea of red love hearts and messages of support for the family. One user said: “Loving family.” Another added: “God bless you and your beautiful family.”
Rodriguez first met Ronaldo while working as a salesman for Gucci while the striker was playing for Real Madrid. She has bonded closely with other children from Ronaldo to 11-year-old Cristiano Jr, twins Mateo and Eva and the couple have a daughter, Alana, together.
Ronaldo previously took to his social media platform to thank football fans after the crowd burst into applause in the seventh minute of Liverpool’s game against United this week. He wrote: “One world…One sport…One global family…Thank you, Anfield. My family and I will never forget this moment of respect and compassion.”
