Airbnb Bonuses for New Brighton Platinum Jubilee Hosts Brighton News

As the UK gears up for Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Airbnb is offering families in Brighton an incentive to start hosting ahead of a big summer of travel.

The platform’s newcomer bonus scheme has been introduced to encourage residents of major UK cities to make the most of the increased demand for holiday accommodation.

Airbnb is offering a £100 travel voucher to those hosting their first guest during the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations (May 30 – June 4) in London, Brighton, Oxford, Manchester, Liverpool, Bournemouth, Leeds, Bath, Birmingham, Southampton, Bristol and Cambridge.

The Government’s Tourism Recovery Plan identifies special times, such as the Platinum Jubilee and Birmingham Commonwealth Games, as major boosts for the UK travel sector, and the Airbnb incentive will also help individuals to take advantage of it.

Last year, Airbnb launched a welcome bonus for new Hosts to help address the accommodation shortage around COP26 in Glasgow. The program increased accommodation capacity and benefited locals who earned an average of £3,000 through accommodation on Airbnb during COP26.

Amanda Cupples, Managing Director for Northern Europe at Airbnb, said: “Airbnb offers a unique opportunity for communities to benefit from the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee as celebrations unfold across the UK and families visit relatives on additional holidays.

“Home sharing helps cities use existing space to increase capacity and accommodate visitors during peak demand and enables residents to provide sustainable and affordable housing, benefiting the local economy.”

New hosts can list a room or an entire home on Airbnb, and globally last year half of all new listings received a reservation within five days of activation.

British hosts on Airbnb collectively earned more than £1.5bn last year – including £668m in the summer months – according to data published by the company, with the typical individual earning more £6,000 a year.

For anyone wishing to become a new Airbnb host and benefit from the incentive, you must join the program. To learn more, and for full terms and conditions, go to airbnb.com/QueensJubilee and list their listing.
