2022 Isuzu D-Max AT35 new from £47,999 Car News

Isuzu has confirmed pricing for the radical D-Max AT35 off-road pickup, ahead of sales starting next week.

The AT35, which is based on Isuzu’s range-topping D-Max V-Cross, comes in one trim but with the choice of two gearboxes: £47,999 manual or £49,999 automatic. This is paired with a 162hp turbocharged diesel engine, which can deliver up to 360Nm of torque – the same powertrain found in all D-Max models.

Yet that’s where the similarities to the V-Cross end. Off-road specialist Arctic Trucks has redesigned the AT35, which the company says will allow the truck to “handle the toughest landscapes with ease”.

This kit includes big 35-inch off-road tires (hence the truck’s name), 17-inch black alloys, Bilstein performance suspension – which includes custom springs and shocks up front, a adjustable anti-roll bar and extended rear shackles. The truck also benefits from extra-wide arch extensions and additional front and rear clearance.

Inside, there are Arctic Trucks-branded headrests and floor mats, with standard leather-trimmed seats, plus a 9.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Dual-zone climate control, automatic wipers and an HDMI port are also standard.

William Brown, Managing Director of Isuzu UK, said: “This new halo model for the Isuzu range really demonstrates how adaptable and versatile the D-Max platform is, and with the AT35 we are showing just how the vehicle can be inspiring and extreme, while maintaining full utility vehicle status, without compromising on payload or towing capacity.

Brown added that the AT35 will be covered by Isuzu’s five-year/125,000-mile warranty.

Peter Smith, Managing Director of Arctic Trucks UK, said: “We are delighted to finally be able to bring the all new Isuzu D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 to market.

“We are very proud of what we have developed with Isuzu UK on this latest generation D-Max which is without a doubt the best to date.”

In addition to structural upgrades, the D-Max receives additional safety features such as forward collision warning, lane keeping assist and automatic emergency braking, earning it the highest score ever. to the latest Euro NCAP safety tests.

Other features include traffic sign recognition, cruise control, rear camera and parking sensors.
