RAF emergency: Alert as UK Hawk jet transmits urgent code 7700 ‘Squawk’ over Yorkshire | United Kingdom | News UK News

A British Aerospace Hawk T45 was flying over Bedale at around 10.30am on Tuesday when it transmitted the signal near Burneston, Bedale.

When a crew resets their transponder to emergency code 7700 (shouting 7700), they alert all air traffic control facilities in the area.

The code means the plane has an emergency.

It has not yet been confirmed what the urgency is.
