The new third-generation Formula E car is the fastest electric racing car ever Car News

The new third-generation Formula E car is the fastest electric racing car to date, with new aerodynamic improvements, improved fuel efficiency and a top speed of over 200mph.

Revealed in Monaco by the world’s motorsport governing body, the FIA, the Spark Gen3 features a radically modified exterior design.

He will race for the first time in the ninth season of the Formula E World Championship, which begins towards the end of this year.

It was specifically designed for racing on street circuits, and the FIA says it represents the “peak of high performance, efficiency and durability”.

Several improvements have been made to the current Gen2 Evo racer. The new engine configuration produces 470bhp, while top speed is said to be north of 200mph.

It is also the first formula car to feature separate front and rear powertrains, meaning its regenerative capacity has increased to 600kW, more than double that of the current car.

The addition of a front motor means there is no longer a need for hydraulic brakes in the rear.

The Gen3 also benefits from ultra-fast charging, capable of recharging its battery at a rate of 600kW during a race.

Durability has also been enhanced. Batteries will be recycled and reused when no longer needed, while linen and recycled carbon fiber will make up much of the bodywork to reduce the car’s carbon footprint by more than 10%.

About 26% of each tire, meanwhile, will be made of natural rubber and recycled fibers.
