A man suffers a broken jaw in a violent attack in Hastings Brighton News

A MAN has fractured his jaw in a violent attack in a city centre.

Police are appealing for witnesses for the assault in Robertson Street, Hastings on Tuesday May 3.

A man was with his friend around 3:15 a.m. when they walked past a group of men.

One of the band members allegedly made an inappropriate comment.

The man attempted to intervene in the ensuing confrontation and was punched in the face.

In addition to losing consciousness, he also suffered a broken jaw and was treated in hospital.

The suspect is a white, lean male with short black hair.

He wore a blue hoodie with a logo on the left chest, dark blue shorts with white writing on the left leg, and dark sneakers.

Anyone with CCTV of the incident or information about it is urged to report it online or call 101, quoting serial 845 of 03/05.
