DANCE school appeals for help with travel expenses as it enters ‘Dancing Olympics’.
A2 Arts in Basin Road, Hove travel to San Sebastian in Spain at the end of June for the 2022 Dance World Cup.
The school is to collect approximately £700 per pupil to cover travel, accommodation, competition entry fees and special kit.
The children of the dance school, a group of its talented youngsters aged 9 to 19, already organize garage sales, cake sales, dance performances and raffles.
They also stand outside the Amex Halls in Falmer today ahead of Brighton’s game against Manchester United at 5.30pm.
Marnie Wallis, Principal of the school, said: “We were so proud to see that we had placed in the top five across the country for every group we participated in, as well as qualifying with solo plays. , in pairs, in trios and in groups.
“All the dancers are extremely committed; they attend local schools and practice at A2 Arts most evenings after school and on weekends.
“Being part of a team creates respect for themselves as well as others, increases confidence, builds self-esteem and is an incredible opportunity to show off their talent and commitment to dance.
“Costs this year far exceed previous years and to participate in Spain we need help with funding. We need to raise around £700.00 per person to cover travel, accommodation, competition entry fee and England Dance World Cup team kit.
“The kids have so many individual events scheduled to help reach their fundraising goal, car boot sales, bake sales, dance performances, raffles and work so hard themselves to reach our team goal! We can’t thank you enough for any role you could play in helping us achieve our goal.”
The students will travel to Spain from June 23 to July 2, with hundreds of children from many countries also in the final.
The qualifiers saw over 120,000 children from 62 different countries vying for a place in the Dance World Cup final.
