Brighton Fringe: Best events and shows on Monday May 9 Brighton News

FROM drag shows to chocolate tours, there’s something for everyone at England’s biggest arts festival.

With over 700 shows and events, festival goers are spoiled for choice with a variety of cabaret, circus, comedy, dance, theatre, drag and more.

Among the events taking place on Monday, May 9, we note:

Brighton Big Drag Contest 2022

Held at Brighton Spiegeltent, the show will see the return of the city’s top drag acts.

“Expect infamous judges, special guests, press, awards and of course top performers on stage,” organizers said.

The show, which will be hosted by Alfie Ordinary, will begin at 7 p.m.

A Not So Silent Disco Tour – Brighton Dance Extravaganza

With many events taking place each day, Brighton Dance Extravaganza organizes an hour-long dance around town.

“This tour is for everyone, from babies to those looking for a bit of adventure and who are young at heart,” organizers said.

Ticket prices range from £15 to £20.

A Food and Chocolate Adventure in Brighton

If you love food and are also a chocolate aficionado, this tour celebrates everything a foodie soul needs.

Not only will your taste buds have their own little feast, but you’ll also discover some of Brighton’s best restaurants and chocolatiers.

The two hour two start in front of the Saint-Barthélemy church.

AAA presents The Secret Comedy Club

Held at Artista Downstairs in Waterloo Street, the comedy venue has over 100 comedians performing over the four weeks of the festival.

Different artists will take the stage each evening to perform an intimate concert.

Artista was voted Brighton Fringe’s Best Venue for People’s Choice Award in 2021.

Come sit on the couch with me

The show will take place at the Laughing Horse @ The Quadrant in North Street.

The show’s star, Andrea Gordon, said: “The show is a cocktail of a comedic but true look at communication in today’s western world, with a healthy dose of rap and a big pinch of satire.”
