Somerset Met Office weekend weather: ‘Sunny outings’ ahead of thunderstorms to hit the county Bath City News

The Met Office has predicted a warm and sunny weekend for Somerset before the ‘stormy’ downpours arrive on Monday May 23. Tomorrow (May 21) will see sunny spells before heavy rain showers come in from the west.

After a wet week for much of the county, many will be happy to hear that we can expect a clear night with “isolated showers”. Of course, as the clouds part, the mercury will drop and it could get chilly in rural areas.

The minimum overnight temperature will be 4°C and this is expected to spike over the course of tomorrow (Saturday May 21). It will be “mostly dry” in Somerset, with some sunny spells expected, bringing the maximum temperature to a very pleasant 18C.

On Sunday, parts of the county can even expect the mercury to hit 19C, making it a very summery weekend. However, all this good weather has a price and, unfortunately, on Monday the rain will return.

Many towns around Somerset are showing rain clouds on their forecast for Monday and Tuesday (May 24), when – according to the Met Office – the whole of the South West can batten down the hatches as the thunder plumps are on their way.

Hour by hour forecast

Tomorrow (Saturday May 21) will be cloudy but warm in Bath, with temperatures reaching 17°C around 3 p.m. and until 5 p.m. Sunday is also expected to be cloudy, but the mercury will hit a whopping 19C in the afternoon.
