Events to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in Bath Bath City News

Bath will be bursting with buntings, afternoon teas, picnics, family entertainment and purple illuminations of iconic buildings to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on the bank holiday weekend in early June.

It should be a great weekend in the city with lots of events and celebrations planned.

Some communities will hold street parties and many other activities are planned by businesses and venues in Bath.

Purple Reign – Light Up The City

Bath City Center Illuminations – Thursday, June 2 at 10 p.m.

Enjoy an after-dinner stroll around Bath’s iconic buildings including Pulteney Bridge, the Guildhall, Roman Baths and Bath Abbey, which will light up in crimson as the sun sets. (Free event).

Royal Beach Vibes – It’s Pimms O’Clock

Royal Pavilion, Royal Victoria Park, Bath, Thursday June 2 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Bath’s most laid-back summer spot, Bath on the Beach, opens on Thursday 2nd June. Enjoy a free glass of Pimms to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. Advance reservation required.

The Great Jubilee Picnic

Royal Crescent Lower Lawn, Royal Victoria Park, Bath – Sunday 5 June, 12pm – 5pm

Prepare your picnic and celebrate the Jubilee while having fun with the family.
The Big Jubilee Picnic event is part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations over the June bank holiday long weekend. The event will take place on Sunday June 5 from 12pm to 5pm on the lower lawn of the Royal Crescent. You are invited to celebrate the Platinum Jubilee while enjoying the green space and child-friendly activities on offer. The event will include entertainment and children’s activities from Super Pirate and Drum Runners, as well as free face painting and an arts and crafts tent. Free event.

Royal Jubilee Garden Party

The Royal Crescent Hotel & Spa, Thursday June 2 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in the beautiful gardens of the Royal Crescent Hotel. Enjoy a buffet-style afternoon tea, live music, lawn games, a magician and more – all while soaking up the sights, smells and sounds of the beautiful secluded gardens. What if it rains? They will simply bring cheerfulness inside. Tickets cost £55 per person or £25 for children under 12. The ticket price includes entry to the garden party and afternoon tea.

Platinum Jubilee Afternoon Tea at Bar Henrietta

La Villa Roseate, Saturday June 4 12pm-3pm

If you’re looking for the perfect way to celebrate the unique occasion of Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, book your table at Roseate Villa, Bath. Celebrate all four holidays and feast like a royal as guests are treated to an array of classic British food and cocktails. Start your day off right with breakfast at Bill’s and opt for the Jubilee Royal with grilled English muffin with smoked salmon, spinach, golden poached eggs, Prosecco Hollandaise sauce and truffle shavings. For later, what could be more British than fish and chips? Bill’s will serve its own Cod Save the Queen fusing two classic British dishes and featuring a crispy cod gudgeon burger with lemon mayonnaise, smashed peas, pickled red onions and rosemary fries, all wrapped in royal newspaper bespoke brand. Sip on royal drinks including The Crown Jewel with Beefeater Gin, Elderflower, Raspberry and Mint.

Pass the royal baton

The Birmingham 2022 Queen’s Baton Relay will travel to Bath on Tuesday July 5

The Queen’s Baton Relay is set to travel across England for a total of 29 days, before culminating in the Birmingham 2022 Opening Ceremony on July 28. Kicking off on Thursday June 2, the Baton will spend four days in London, coinciding with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee weekend. The Baton will then resume the international journey and return to England on Monday July 4 to begin a 25-day tour of the regions. On Tuesday July 5, Bath will officially welcome the baton by visiting the Royal Crescent and the Roman Baths.
