Investigation opened after industrial accident at Sussex business park Brighton News

AN INQUIRY is opened following an industrial accident in a business park.

Emergency services were called to Wiston Business Park in London Road, Ashington at 1.20pm yesterday.

The air ambulance was spotted in the park with several emergency vehicles including paramedics and police also present.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE), a government agency responsible for encouraging, regulating and enforcing health, safety and welfare at work, has launched an investigation.

Sussex Police said they were assisting in the investigation.

A force spokesman said: ‘Emergency services responded to an industrial accident at business premises in London Road, Ashington at 1.20pm on Saturday 21 May.

“Police are supporting a Health and Safety Executive (HSE) investigation into the incident.”

Footage taken yesterday showed the air ambulance leaving the scene.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the incident.

The South East Coast Ambulance Service (Secamb) has been contacted for further comment.
