But with the tournament being moved to winter due to being held in Qatar, it means we are left with a summer wondering what could happen.

One way to fill your time this summer is to make sure you don’t miss a moment of their games and don’t feel too hard at work the next day.

With that in mind, we’ve put together a handy guide to England’s trip to Qatar 2022 with all the dates and times, so you don’t get stuck working while Gareth Southgate’s men lift the World Cup…

When are the England group stages?

The only thing he can guarantee is when England will play their group games, but even then we don’t know for sure who they will play.

England will play on the opening day of the tournament, the Monday, November 21 against Iran. That match starts at 1:00 p.m.

The second game is against the USA and he’s in a perfect moment. 7pm in Friday, November 25 it means that most people will be able to leave without reserving any free time.

However, this is where it gets confusing. With England set to play a qualifier next, there are still three teams that could be. Scotland still have to play Ukraine in a rescheduled qualifier, with the winner playing Wales for the right to join Group B.

Whoever England ends up playing, it will take place at 7pm on Tuesday, November 29. If it’s against Wales or Scotland, you might want to book the next day off…

What about the knockout rounds?

With England in a fairly easy group, one would expect them to finish first, but you never know. If England finish first, they will face the Group A runners-up (Netherlands, Qatar, Ecuador and Senegal) at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, December 4. Again, you may want to book the next day if you’re a big one.

Assuming they win that, the quarterfinals would take place at 7 p.m. Saturday, December 10with the semifinal at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday December 14.

However, if England somehow conspire to finish second in Group B, they will face the winners of Group A at 3pm. Saturday, December 3. Their quarterfinals would be the Friday, December 9 at 3:00 p.m.and the semi would be on Tuesday, December 13 at 7:00 p.m.

And then, of course, the final takes place on sunday december 18 at 3 pm. Should the dreaded semi-final heartbreak happen, that will take place on Saturday, December 17 at 3 p.m.
