Loose Women’s Denise Welch defies critics for her ‘expensive’ new role on the ITV show UK News

Denise Welch has hit back at online critics who slammed her “expensive” new role on Loose Women, which saw her head to LA to give viewers a taste of Hollywood glamour.

Geordie actress Denise has been a regular on ITV’s lunchtime show for decades now, juggling her panel appearances with on-screen jobs like Boy Meets Girl and Hollyoaks, while riding on scene in Calendar Girls and The Water Babies. If you follow her on Instagram, you’ll know that Denise has been spending time in America recently, visiting her godparents and enjoying an unexpected reunion with an actor who played one of her pupils in Waterloo Road.

Denise’s US jaunt also saw her meet the daughters of Kyle Richards, Farrah and Alexia, stars of The Real Housewives of Beverley Hills and Los Angeles-based estate agents. And, as well as being stunned to meet the women, Denise also had a job and it was all revealed on Loose Women earlier this week when viewers saw Denise trying to become a real estate agent herself.

While many fans adored Denise’s reporting, on the same show dance hall legend Sean Paul was a surprise guest, a viewer, with a Twitter handle that included the word “Sunshine,” was a far cry. to be impressed.

They expressed their disapproval, writing online: “May I ask who paid the bill to take Denise to LA to wander around posh goofs gossiping guts? What a waste of money and as to what it is what they would be doing if they weren’t on LW, correct me if I’m wrong, but Ruth and Jane are journalists, Linda and Denise are actresses.” The scathing reaction didn’t go unnoticed by Denise herself, who fired back, “Hi Jenny. Maybe you’d like to change your Twitter handle.”

Another viewer objected to Denise talking about her late dad Vin, who passed away last year, tweeting: “Denise squelch show mentioned dad again already.., waiting for the rest of the Lincoln Matty checklist mental health blah blah blah,” to which Denise replied, “I think I scored a hat trick today. It’s nice of you to show such support and I hope you get the same thing.” And when someone else quizzed her, mentioning her husband Lincoln Townley, she shot back, “Because I’m married to him. What would you like me to call him???”
