The Seat Ibiza driver had only recently been disqualified.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: ‘Clearly no one listened to instructions from the authorities, he continued to drive and when asked to stop at one of our cars last night, he decided not to.
“His utter disregard for anyone’s safety led him to crash head-on into an innocent member of the public at Elsecar.
“He didn’t circle around to make sure they were okay and instead took a chance on foot, but was detained in a nearby garden. Thankfully the member of the public is fine, just a little sore. ” The 23-year-old was charged with dangerous driving, driving while prohibited, driving without insurance and possession of cannabis.
“He was sent back to appear in court to see if the courts are as unimpressed as we are with his failure to follow instructions.”
