Station Commander Rob Hazzard said the property will not be in use at this time and no injuries have been reported.

Six fire engines attended, including from Finchley, West Hampstead, Hornsey and Kentish Town

The area has been cordoned off by emergency services and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Mr Hazzard said: “The property was believed to be disused and empty at the time of the fire, so fortunately no injuries were reported.

“The firefighters were confronted with a major fire on their arrival which affected the whole of this large building.

“Crews worked hard to tackle the fire and bring it under control.”

The house is located on Bishops Avenue, which has earned the nickname “Billionaires’ Row”.

Properties sell for millions and millions of pounds and the street is considered one of the most expensive to buy on the globe, although it has been reported in the past that many houses are left empty for a large part of the year.
