Locals are offering their homes for rent during this year’s Glastonbury Festival for over £3,000 a night. Homes in Somerset are announced as 200,000 people are set to descend on Pilton for the world famous music festival between June 22-26.
The majority of those revelers will be pitching tents inside the gigantic 1.00-acre festival site, but a number of properties in the area have also been listed on the AirBnb online home rental marketplace. With festival luxuries – a clean toilet, shower, and a bit of peace and quiet – these homes come with a jaw-dropping bonus.
A small one-bedroom cottage in the village of Pilton is advertised for £6,222 for the five nights of the festival. This equates to £1,244 per night for the property.

Advertising Shepton Mallet’s announcement on Facebook, owner David Taylor wrote: “People renting our house in Glastonbury have had to pull out to make it available to rent again. Pilton and surrounding areas during the festival are restricted to crews, press crews etc.
“Therefore the prices are high so yeah if it’s you and a few friends staying it will seem like a lot of money when the big companies are more than happy to pay those amounts that’s why you see properties in Pilton cost over £5,000. I appreciate the comments about the high cost but these are the prices properties get which is why it is set at the amount it is.”
