THE PRIVATE SECRETARY to the MP for Hove joined the fight with the Railway Unionists, against her party’s orders.

Kate Osborne, MP for Jarrow and Private Parliamentary Secretary (PPS) to Peter Kyle, was picketing the RMT union in Bromley today, where she demanded a pay rise for public sector workers.

Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer told MPs from the front bench not to attend the railway picket line.

Because of her role as PPS, Osbourne defied these orders, but said she was a trade unionist and would always stand on the side of the workers.

“Public sector workers deserve a pay rise after three years of wage freezes,” she said in a video via her Twitter.

“Grant Shapps needs to step in, get around the table and try to resolve this dispute by getting a negotiated deal.

“This government continues to fail us. We demand better. Workers deserve better. Solidarity with the RMT.

Shadow Treasury Chief Secretary Pat McFadden was asked by LBC News whether Osborne would face disciplinary action.
