The Artura GT4 will cost from £200,000, around £10,000 more than the road car. However, McLaren says the options can go much further, with a full roster to “support a range of competition and track environments”.
These include the installation of a passenger seat, a tire pressure monitoring system, a collision avoidance radar system, additional lights for night racing and a beverage system.
All cars will be built to order and potential buyers are invited to express their interest now.
“The Artura GT4 is the second racing car to be built from the ground up by McLaren Automotive’s motorsport division,” said McLaren Motorsport Director Ian Morgan.
“Based on the groundbreaking new McLaren Artura, it represents a significant step up from the outgoing 570S GT4, itself a hugely successful competition car that has won numerous race and championship victories with our customer racing teams.
“With lighter weight, extremely precise handling characteristics and increased durability, along with the benefits of packaging and efficiency and complete serviceability for the mechanics of the new V6 powertrain, the Artura GT4 will establish new class standards, as we are already seeing from our extensive test and development programme.
McLaren’s newest addition joins a number of other GT4 cars you can buy. These include the Porsche 718 Cayman GT4 Clubsport, the Mercedes-AMG GT4 and the recently launched BMW M4 GT4.
